After a recent MPS press installation at Bacigalupe, two more label printers and converters in Spain have decided on an MPS Press: Gráficas Varias and Relieves Egara.

Gráficas Varias was founded by Varias Bou in 1918 in Sant Sadurni d´Anoia, heart of the CAVA region in Spain. Gráficas Varias is a well-known company that specializes in the sector CAVA and wines, and also self adhesive labels such as soda. The company is composed of a team of 85 professionals in graphic arts. The team, together with the latest printing press technology and modern production facilities, allow a comprehensive response capability for all customers by offering optimal product quality. Varias has recently purchased an MPS press to complete its range of machinery.

J. Varias, general manager and grandchild of founder Gráficas Varias comments: “We are constantly testing many machine types and observing technologies world wide. It was obvious, after our recent series of testing that the MPS print quality is very good and it is very easy to achieve, furthermore it has an unbelievable high productivity. During the tests at MPS, we were using several materials including mono films. The change over times and material waste were beyond our expectations!”

Relieves Egara, founded in 1947 and specialized mainly in cosmetics and pharma self-adhesives labels, purchased an MPS printing press. With over 60 years manufacturing experience in self adhesive labels, Egara has become highly specialized and has created a large production capacity. After purchasing an MPS press, the company says it will be able to reach a market with up to eight screen printing in the same label.

Garmundi, general director of Relieves Egara says: “We have decided [on] MPS, because we need the highest flexo print quality possible. Next to that we use very much combination printing with rotary screen. It is known that a MPS press delivers our required outstanding quality as well as productivity, whilst using combination printing flexo-screen.”

With a production of over two million labels per day, Bacigalupe is one of the leading companies in Spain. Bacigalupe works for many multinational companies and specializes in wine and liquors labels. Bacigalupe decided to purchase a MPS flexo press especially because of the Crisp.Dot technology.

”For a time we were interested in MPS in its developments,” says Bacigalupe, managing director. “We tested the MPS technology for the first time five years ago. We are happy and proud to have installed the first MPS press. The machine will be focussed on very high quality labels including embossing and hot foil specialities.”
